Erbil Polytechnic University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Murcia in Spain.

Under the Kurdish Universities Teaching Mobility Program in the RISE Project at the University of Murcia in Spain, a delegation from Erbil Polytechnic University visited the university.

The delegation was headed by Assist. Prof. Botan Majid Ahmed, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies. Assist. Prof. Abdullah Omer Yasin, Director of International Relations, and Mrs. Piro Botan Mohsen, staff member at the International Relations Directorate, also joined the visit.

They had a scientific and academic discussion, and after that, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Jose Lujan , Rector of the University of Murcia, and Prof. Pascal Gómez, Vice Rector for International Relations.

The diplomat of the Philippines visited our university.

On Wednesday, 19/11/2025, Mr. Prof. Edrees  Muhammad  Tahir Harki, the Rector  of the University, with the presence of Prof. Azad Hassan Qadir, the Vice Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Talib Mohammed Sharif, the Dean of Mergasor Technical Institute, and Mr. Behzad Helmi Akreyi, the Director of the Rector Office, welcomed Charlie Bakania Mananjan, the diplomat of the Philippines in Baghdad.

The purpose of this meeting was to emphasize coordination and strong relations between the Philippines and Kurdistan, as well as to create opportunities for a group of students from both sides to carry out summer training.

During the meeting, the Rector of the University talked about the role and progress of Erbil Polytechnic University and explained the stability, safety, and secure environment in Kurdistan, which gave the visiting delegation confidence, especially regarding security and tranquility.

 

 

 

A representative from Erbil Polytechnic University participated in a series of specialized seminars.

A representative from Erbil Polytechnic University / Technical Institute of Administration participated in a series of special seminars called “Statistics and IT Management for Developing Countries.”

He also made several scientific visits to the cities of Beijing and Guangzhou in China.

The program included four main parts:

1) Statistics

It covered different types of statistics, including:

  • Residents’ data and Chinese work data.
  • Public sector data.
  • How to analyze big data (Big Data Analysis).

2) Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence

This part focused on the importance of Information Technology (IT) and management methods.

It also explained the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in today’s world and emphasized that humans should stay at the center of work.

3) Scientific Research and Development

This part highlighted the importance of scientific research and the role of the private sector.

It also mentioned China’s major reforms, which helped the country move from being behind to becoming advanced in all fields.

It stressed the value of humans and their rights as the base of responsibility and personal development.

4) Scientific Visits

He visited many historical and cultural places, museums, archives, workshops, and developed institutions.

The purpose of the visits was to admire the country’s progress, which resulted from five-year planning and continuous monitoring by the country’s leadership.

Important Instructions for the Applicants

The Applicants must:

  • Hold a master’s or PhD degree from Kurdistan universities or any other considered Iraqi universities. For those who have got their degrees abroad, they must provide a document from MHE confirming that their certificate has been equalized.
  • Have a valid IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 5.0, issued within the last three years. Alternatively, applicants may submit an equivalent certificate (such as TOIFL, PTE or a certificate from one of the language centers of the Kurdistan Region universities) that much the IELTS 5.0, as follows:
  • TOEFL(IBT)= 59
  • TOIFL(PBT)=414
  • PTE=52

The Required Documents:

  • A university order for a Master’s /PHD degree certificate
  • Bachelor’s certificate with transcript (one copy)
  • An IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 5.0, Or other language certificates mentioned above (original + copy)
  • Applicants who are currently employed must provide an official letter confirming their participation in the course.
  • A receipt for the first installment payment.
  • Copy of passport
  • One personal photo
